Danielle M. Vranian and Caroline E. Payton won a verdict in the Circuit Court for Baltimore City in favor of a Baltimore-based technology firm. The plaintiff entered into a contract with the owner of an Atlantic City resort hotel and casino under which the plaintiff was to provide research and consulting services to help the hotel attract Millennial customers.

After the plaintiff delivered on the contract, the hotel concocted complaints about the quality of the plaintiff’s work and refused to pay any of the plaintiff’s invoices. In November 2019, Vranian and Payton won partial summary judgment in the plaintiff’s favor after the court determined that the hotel breached its contract with the plaintiff. At a trial in January 2020, the court awarded the full value of the unpaid invoices to the plaintiff, plus interest. This award represented the full amount of damages requested by the plaintiff.
