Litigation Team Secures Win in Judicial Review of Maryland Insurance Administration Decision

Baxter Baker’s litigation team has done it again!  After a favorable decision from the Maryland Insurance Administration was appealed to the Baltimore City Circuit Court, partners Gary R. Jones and Danielle M. Vranian, and associate Brad Clark, were able to secure a ruling in their client’s favor.

After our client’s title insurer refused to tender a defense in a land dispute case against our client, Mr. Jones and Ms. Vranian were able to secure a decision from the Maryland Insurance Administration finding that the insurer’s denial of the claim violated the Maryland Insurance Article and ordering the insurer to cover the costs of the land dispute litigation. Dissatisfied with the result, the insurer petitioned the Circuit Court for Baltimore City to review the MIA decision.

The team worked hard to pick the insurer’s arguments apart brick-by brick, culminating in Ms. Vranian expertly executing an oral argument before the Circuit Court and securing an order affirming the Insurance Administration’s decision.
