Joan Cerniglia-Lowensen practices in the area
of civil litigation. Ms. Cerniglia-Lowensen's practice concentrates
on the defense of healthcare providers in medical malpractice cases,
licensing matters and veterinary malpractice. Additionally, Ms.
Cerniglia-Lowensen represents a national restaurant chain in the
defense of civil litigation matters. She has represented hospitals,
nursing homes, physicians, nurses, dentists, and other healthcare
professionals in various actions. She regularly lectures on risk
management issues to physicians, nurses and other healthcare providers.
Ms.
Cerniglia-Lowensen is admitted to practice in the state of Maryland,
the United States District Court for the District of Maryland, Superior
Court for the District of Columbia and the Supreme Court of the
United States. She is a member of the American Society of Healthcare
Risk Managers, the Maryland Society of Healthcare Risk Managers,
the Association of Nurse Attorneys, and Sigma Theta Tau. Ms. Cerniglia-Lowensen
graduated from St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing, the University
Of Maryland School Of Nursing and the University of Maryland Law
