E. Philip Franke III, an owner and partner in the firm, specializes in defending physicians and other health care providers against malpractice claims. His experience in this area includes defending healthcare professionals before juries in Maryland Circuit and Federal Courts. Mr. Franke also regularly represents healthcare providers before state licensing agencies and peer review boards.

A Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, Mr. Franke has an AV rating by Martindale Hubble. He has been selected to appear in the 2007-present editions of The Best Lawyers in America in the specialty of medical malpractice law, and he is listed in the 2008-present issues of Maryland Super Lawyers ® magazine. Elected by his peers, he is also a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. A member of the Maryland Defense Counsel, Inc., he has served on its Executive Committee as chairman of both the Negligence and Insurance Committee and the Professional Liability Committee.

Mr. Franke has been invited to testify on numerous occasions before the Maryland
legislature on proposed legislation affecting civil litigation generally and
medical malpractice claims specifically. He also has appeared before numerous groups of healthcare professionals to discuss liability issues and risk management.
